About Moonachie

Moonachie is a compact borough of less than one square mile in the southeastern Meadowlands region of Bergen County. With a population under 3,000, it is one of the smallest municipalities in the county. Despite its size, Moonachie has a strong community identity forged in part by shared challenges, including severe flooding during Hurricane Sandy in 2012.
