About Fair Lawn

Fair Lawn is a diverse, middle-class borough of over 33,000 residents in central Bergen County. Bordered by the Passaic River to the south and Saddle River to the west, Fair Lawn developed rapidly after World War II with the Radburn planned community, one of the first neighborhoods in America designed around the automobile. Today, Fair Lawn is known for its excellent schools, large Orthodox Jewish community, diverse dining scene, and convenient NJ Transit train service to Manhattan.

Highlights

  • Home to the historic Radburn community — America's first planned 'Town for the Motor Age'
  • NJ Transit train station on the Bergen County Line with direct service to Hoboken
  • Large and active Orthodox Jewish community with numerous synagogues and kosher dining
  • Highly rated public school system with strong academics and athletics
  • Diverse population with excellent Korean, Middle Eastern, and kosher restaurants
